The Black Russian Terrier (or also known as simply Black Terrier) is a Russian breed of dog developed originally as a guard/watch
dog. It is rare to find outside its native country and is just starting to be recognized elsewhere. It is one of the AKC's most-recently recognized breeds, gaining full status in July of 2004.
History: 20th Century Developed and bred in Russia after World War II, for
military and police work. Becoming more popular in Europe. Size: Large
Height : 27in. - 29in. Weight: 80lbs. - 130lbs.
Coat: Rough, Wiry
Thick double coat giving a shaggy look about
them.
Color: Black with little grey
Personality: Protective, Intense loyalty. Gets along well with cats and small pets, aggressive with larger pets. Clubs: Black
