Smooth Fox Terrier

The Fox Terrier refers primarily to two different breeds of dog, the Smooth Fox Terrier and the Wire Fox Terrier. The two breeds are very similar, with the only major difference being the coats.
Fox Terrier's were established to assist in fox hunting. This breed solved the problem of losing foxes when they would go underground during the hunt. The terrier would be sent in after it.

Colors:
Both Smooth and Wire Fox Terriers have base colors of tan or black and tan.
The white coloring derives from a "spotting gene", which acts to restrict the formation of color to a greater or lesser degree.

Weight: Wire - up to 21lbs. | Smooth - 18 lbs.
Height:  15 - 17inches
