History: First shown in Ireland in 1875 although there was considerable variation in size and type and was the first of the Irish terriers to be recognized by the Kennel Club.
Coat & Color: Harsh and wiry coat, having broken appearance, free of softness or silkiness, not so long as to hide the outline of body. ‘Whole-colored’,
most preferable colors being red, red/wheaten, or yellow/red.
Weight: 25lbs.-27lbs. Height: - 19" Personality: Extremely affectionate and loving to his owners, his eyes are soft and endearing; however, with other dogs he loses any kind of softness and will fling himself into a fight with a totally reckless attitude.
