A Scottish Terrier, or Scottie, is a small but resilient terrier. A very strong dog for its size, the Scottie was originally used to hunt small game, particularly badgers.

History:
The Scottish Terrier was first bred in Scotland in about the 1700s, and were originally named the Aberdeen Terrier.

Coat & Color:
Scotties
have a broken coat. It is a hard, wiry outer coat with a soft, dense undercoat.
Usual coat color ranges from dark gray to jet black, but Scottish Terriers can be brindle, grizzle, sandy, or wheaten in color.

Weight:
18 to 22 lbs.
Height:
10" -12"

Personality:
 
The Scottish terrier is alert and spirited, but also stable and steady-going.
While loving and gentle with people, can be aggressive with other dogs.
